The overall design of the tablecloth was inspired by Shirvanshakh Palace Complex in Icherisheher. The former residence of the governors of Shirvan (Shirvanshakhs), located in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, is an authentic treasure of Azerbaijani architecture. The monument was created by Khalillulah 1 in 1436. In 1964 the palace recieved a status of the Icheri Shekher (Old City) national historical park and is currently protected by the state as the national heritage. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The decorative design consists of a structure of interwaving plant and flower patterns known as «Rumi» and «Hatai» respectively. These elements have been inspired by the beautiful stone-carved decorations in the same monument. This is a real stone marvel. Nowadays the treasures of Shirvanshakhs can be found in the best museum collections of Turkey, Iran, Great Britain, France, Russia and Hungary. Some of the carpets from the palace are kept in Victoria and Albert Museum of London.
